Mamta appeases Maoists

Our so called great leader Mamta Banerjee- the leader of Trinamul Congress- has once again stunned our country and the Congress led federal government with another shocker. No wonder that she is expected to do such ridicule act of appeasing Maoists who are being held responsible and blamed for derailing and sabotaging an express train which killed as many as 150 passengers. Not only this, Maoists have slaughtered many policemen and other government sleuths from time to time and challenged the UPA ( a sissy government) over the years. Lalgarh where violence was uninterrupted for long time and has witnessed the maximum casualties due to insurgency and this insurgency led by them has become the headache for government.

Indian Railway Minister addressed a huge rally in West Bengal, a place considered the strong hold of Maoists, and offers negotiations between the Government and Maoists as if Maoists were troubled by Indian Government and such pity is nothing but a way to be on the top of voting seat in forthcoming elections. Trinamul Congress was extincted almost some years back and came into limelight after this mindless lady opposed to the Nano Project of TATA Motors where eventually, the federal government could do nothing to stop that hurricane of opposing mob and our eminent industrialist Mr. Ratan Tata had to back off and shifted his project to Gujarat. Mamta and Mayawati are both sisters who always try to attract voters in the name of Maoists and Dalits and they hardly do any benevolence acts to uplift these people except encouraging reservations in all kinds of sectors and that is something to snatch the right of deserving candidates.

"I am against all kinds of terror. Terror should stop in Lalgarh and all areas around it and the counter-insurgency operations in the area should be stopped," she told flag-waving supporters.(source bbc) What is she trying to say? Already our coward government has decided not to take any aerial route to pacify this insurgency in Maoist stronghold areas and now this lunatic lady is requesting the government to cease the ground route as well. The cops were supposed to arrest Maoist Activists and Leaders had they been shown up in the rally but the ground reality is that there was no arrest of any one. Mamta is a big blot to the country and the UPA government but Manmohansingh is such a guy who hardly mind such anti-Indian activities.

Mamta's record in Railway Ministry has not been even satisfactory at all and she has been also accused of corruptions in full swing. All her declared projects of Railway hardly have been kicked off and some projects are delayed by several years due to the delayed execution. These delayed railway projects are hallmark to Business Loss to the big companies. Do you think that the conditions and facilities of trains have improved off late? The obvious answer is 'No'. On the contrary, we have witnessed several Rail Mishaps off late.

Jai Ho to Congress Government under whose nose, the reports of corruption are being surfaced in Commonwealth 2010 committee, Mamta's open support to insurgents, the lame international policies towards Pakistan since our independence, Kashmir is burning due to our great leader Nehru, etc. The past mistakes might not be corrected now but the government must ensure not to give birth to new vermin now!

Finally, UKBA is moving into right direction!

UKBA announced this year earlier that the new requirements are needed to be introduced for Tier 4 (students category) applicants. The new requirement is that all the students coming to UK for a below degree level (with exception to Intensive English Course and Foundation Course) have to demonstrate the legitimate level of English Proficiency by means of English Test such as IELTS, PTE and TOEFL and it has to be at level of at least CEF and B1. Well, it is a good news for every one as we have experienced that there are several students from India who were not able to utter a single word in English went to the UK for their studies. That was a pure blah and unscrupulous agents and non genuine student grabbed the opportunity to fulfill their purpose. Due to lower level of English Proficiency, obviously students were not going to get employment and they were in distress conditions. This situation now can be averted forever and there would be some amount of filtration.

This new rule is going to be effected from 12 August 2010!

GMAT is going to get tougher

Graduate Management Admission Test known as GMAT - a passport to enter into the best B School in the USA or elsewhere- is going to add one more section of Integrated or Analytical Reasoning almost on the same line of Data Interpretation of CAT somewhat. This new section will represent carts, spreadsheets and graphs. The test takers are expected to analyse the information to draw the conclusion and logical relations between data and classes.

It is expected to change from this month. Apparently, this will be perceived not as a good news by the students and it will burden up some more stress. But every coin has two sides and there is some relief with this new change, too. GMAC will discard one of two essays from Analytical Writing Section to compensate this section which has a length of 30 minutes.

A nationwide strike - Weeping at your own cost

Off late, UPA government has been busy in boasting on its achievements of economical reforms, the healthy GDP and liberalized trade policies while ignoring the burning issues of laymen of whose the pocket is pinched severely to survive in this dear economy.

India is one of a few countries that has registered a double digit food price inflation in 2009 and prices of essential commodities are skyrocketing. Government has been unable to curb the soaring price of basic commodities and the Petroleum Ministry decided to gift another jitter to Indians by increasing prices of Petrol, Diesel and LPG excusing on increasing prices of Crude Oil internationally. Whereas I don't see any correlation in their excuse because Crude Oil is traveling at around $75 per barrel and with that international price, it seems no point in increasing. Surprisingly, government has been claiming that they are under the burden of huge subsidy which has been in existence over the years but do not disclose to the public that how much they are making by direct and indirect taxes that are imposed on petroleum and natural gas products. What is wrong if they were to reduce their taxes on these products and adjust the affordable pricing?

Congress Government has been fooling this nation since independence. Be it a Kashmir issue, be it a growth of country, be it a coward policies to tackle Naxalites , be it a weak administration to handle and control terrorism, etc. The prices of primary food articles increased by 16.5%, pulses grew by a killing 32.4%, eggs, meat and fish by 35% milk by 21%, sugar by 26%, flour by 16%, cereals by 6% and fruits and vegetables by 7.6%. It looks that Government is yet not convinced with this inflation and wish to burden more on civilians by increasing prices of petroleum products.

What is very much hilarious in this matter? The Petroleum Ministry published an advert in Times of India last week comparing prices of these in India with Pakistan, Nepal, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. On the one hand, government makes the people and world feel that they are progressing and outperforming in compare with its neighboring countries and on the other hand, they are helpless to fall in line with them for certain things. Gosh!

It is a shame that the country has nearly 50% population under poverty line and have to intentionally or unintentionally involve ourselves in to a nationwide strike that has made a one day loss of millions in dollars.

Students Partners Program (SPP) is a real success!

News Release

Canada works to welcome more Indian students to Canadian colleges

Toronto, January 28, 2010 — The acceptance rate for Indian students coming to study at a group of Canadian colleges has doubled thanks to a new program between Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) and the Association of Canadian Community Colleges (ACCC). The announcement was made today by Member of Parliament Tim Uppal, on behalf of Citizenship, Immigration and Multiculturalism Minister Jason Kenney, and by James Knight, President and CEO of the ACCC.

A joint pilot project called the Student Partners Program was launched in April 2009 between Canada’s visa offices in India and twenty member colleges of the ACCC. The goal of the program is to increase the approval rate for study permit applications at participating Canadian colleges.

“The Student Partners Program has resulted in an increase in the number of Indian students on our college campuses,” said Minister Kenney. “International students bring with them new ideas and experiences and contribute both financially and culturally to the communities and institutions where they study.”

In 2008, India ranked seventh with 3,244 people in terms of source countries for students.

The total number of international students in Canada has more than doubled since 1998 to 178,000 and their presence provided employment for over 83,000 Canadians last year. A 2009 study commissioned by Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada found international students contributed more than $6.5 billion to the Canadian economy in 2008.

“International students contribute to the cultural life and economic success of colleges and institutes and of the communities they serve. In partnership with CIC, we have doubled the approval rate of visas for students from India coming to Canadian colleges. We will work with CIC to expand the initiative to other ACCC members,” said Mr. Knight.

During the first nine months of the launch of the program, CIC’s visa offices in India received over 4,000 applications in the program. The program has successfully met its objective: the approval rate for the first group of students under the program coming to study this past September was more than double the approval rate for the same colleges the preceding year. Furthermore, 95 percent of the students remain in good standing at an ACCC college. Processing times within the program are faster than the global norm, with an average of about two and a half weeks.

The program has several checks and balances, from requiring applicants to provide verifiable documentation, to a feedback mechanism where colleges report back on whether students show up. The safety, security and health of Canadians are of the utmost importance. All students who come to Canada through the Student Partnership Program must adhere to the same screening requirements as any visitor or student.

“This type of program benefits both our country and those who participate in it,” said Minister Kenney. “When all is said and done, these graduates may remain in Canada and apply to immigrate under the Canada Experience Class. They would make Canada their home and continue to contribute to our country’s social and economic fabric.”

Canada’s network of community colleges offers many outstanding programs to train young Canadians and their counterparts from around the world for the opportunities of today's economy.

The Government of Canada will continue to look at ways to encourage international students to study in Canada.

Stranded students see a new hope in Australia

Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC) has announced an updated list of skilled occupation for General Skilled Migration and Employer Nomination Scheme in which they have included the occupations which were removed some time back. The popular occupations among Indian Students' Community in Australia were Commercial Cookery, Hair Dressing, Patisserie, and Community Welfare.

In March, DIAC removed all these occupations from the list which spread hue and cry among the students and they became stranded. This move of the Australian Government brought a lot of criticism among the students' community and the numbers for going to Australia for further and higher studies trickled down dramatically. No body expected for this surprising move from DIAC for inclusion of these occupations and students literally left all the hopes for reinstatement of these.

I believe that Australian Education Export Industry may revive from this positive legislation and the export income from this has hit close to 4 billion dollars in a very first quarter. The Australian Education Export Industry contribute nearly 15 billion per annum dollars over the years and it was totally set to plummet if the corrective measures were not taken by government.

This is a good news for students who are onshore and may not significantly help to attract new students from our country at the moment since DIAC put India on Assessment Level 4 from AL 3 stating that high risk involved in documents submitted for Visa Approval and a very low returning ratio from Indian Students.

The industry registered a very rough time in this decade and the enquirers for studying in Australia almost dried up. We may notice an upward chart in coming days. Lets hope for the best for both the countries.

Spaniards on the stream of winning

Once again, Spain rattled its opponent Portugal with its meticulous tactics of passing and attacking panache and led themselves for 1-0 victory. None other but David Villa who has impressed a lot by precision striking in FIFA world cup this year and scored his fourth goal of the tournament.

I always wished Spain to win over Portugal as it is one of the most favorites teams of mine after Brasil. Spain was quite aggressive from outset and had almost 62% possession of the ball in first half. Fernando Torres and David Villa breached the defensive wall of Portugal in first ten minutes and hit 3 likely goals that were saved by brilliance of Portugal Goalie Eduardo. Torres once again was unlucky to score a goal after having terrific killing instinct of attacking.

A trademark Spanish passing found in the centre where Iniesta flicked the ball through Xavi who backheeled to Villa for charging in the left in the second half. The most expensive modern footballer Cristiano Ronaldo could not impress the world except he became the spectator of Spanish team work and quality passing. It seems that he is, yet, puffed up with unwanted pride after joining Real Madrid and did not inspire any of his team mate.

So we will surely see some more bombardments from Spain against Paraguay on Saturday and it looks that Spain will be ferocious in quarterfinal.

The pot calling the kettle black

In a very bizarre manner, the Ahmedabad Municipality Corporation filed a 10 Crore defamation suit against Canadian citizen who is an animal rights activist, Ms. Lisa Warden. She has been accused of running a slander campaign against the civic body and uploading a controversial video on YouTube about how the dogs are caught by civic authorities.

Warden voiced against the primitive and barbaric method of trapping the stray dogs and she objected that the use of iron tongs instead of the net had been used. This sparked the spat between her and the civic body and later filed a suit some 1o days ago stating that Warden was intentionally trying to run down its reputation, extortion and abetting crime by snatching those iron tongs from the office of AMC.

Warden has been absconding ever since a writ petition has been made and no body knows till now for her whereabouts. Warden's threating email to the commissioner has put her in trouble and AMC got the opportunity to payback.

Whatever it may be! I have never seen the civic body trapping the stray dogs by net but only the iron tongs which is very barbaric and against the rights of dumb and deaf animals. Keep aside her threating email, atrocities and inhumane treatment against animals are common these days and when somebody stands up against this menace, s/he is hushed by either power of governing bodies or a syndicate of goons.

When Salman Khan was being prosecuted for poaching the black buck, our other national fellows were waiting for him for a glimpse and an autograph outside the Honorable Court disregarding what he did to the endangered species...

In a crux, the powerful institutions and people suppress the voice of justice and they do the mockery of our judicial system! Thank God, our Supreme Courts, the brighter side of tomorrow, are neutral in their verdict otherwise some elements have tried to convert this modern world in to the jungle.

FIFA World Cup 2010

With a great enthusiasm and expectation, I started watching the matches of Czars: the teams those dominated the world of football. It has been a history that Europeans and Latins run down teams of African and Asian Nations. Apparently, the game of Football is adored like God in these peoples and its passion runs through the veins of their. Before the ball of the first match kicked in, I fancied that teams such as Spain, Brazil, Argentina, England, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, France, Portugal would delight every spectator across the globe, unknowing the fact that some of these teams have not met any expectations whatsoever and surprised the world with shockers

Latins have exhilarated the Football lovers with their performance especially Brazil and Argentina which seem to be as strong as their history and the never die spirit of them perplexed the opponents. Their goal targets are in precision and as usual, they don't pass the ball but they caress it to the fellows to make the opponents search for it through the gaps. Whereas, Europeans have made the mockery of their brand image and performed as novice.

Germans, French, English, Spanish and Italians have tarnished their reputation with their own hands and their regular playing participation of EPL and UEFA Champions League have not benefited them for such a prestigious and grand event of world cup 2010. Their defense has been battered by the new comers and their inability to score the goal has put all most of every team of the Europe on the brink of disqualifying for next stage except now God's miracle and the poor performance of others can salvage their reputation. This is how these teams have played.

This poor performance of biggies can be, precisely, equated with Indian Cricket Experience of IPL. All our Indian Players shine like a star and collapse when they have to play on the soil of New Zealand and West Indies where they are unable to maneuver the ball on the bouncy track. And these days, the playing with the Clubs has been prioritized by players as that satisfies and fills their pockets. Over commercialization of the games jeopardies the performance of the players when they play for the nation. Another fact of this failure can be related to the clashing of egos of the big players when they play together and dependency on each other's performance lead to the disastrous results.

I wish that the European Teams may regain their performance in the nick of time or the Latins sound to be the favorite for the coronation of world cup 2010.

The best part of this world cup is that you happen to watch the blonde beauty: Shakira

Canada Overview

Canada offers a vast array of activities to the visitors to choose from. The country has something for visitors of all ages. Some of the best offerings of Canada include skiing, sailing, museum combing, and of course, a beautiful landscape spread across the length and breadth of the country. Far from the Maple syrups and Mounties, Canada is now know for multiple reasons.

Head straight to Canada's western regions if you are really keen on experiencing the rustic charm where some of the choicest locations are there to dazzle your eyes and mind. The European travelers will feel at home while traveling to the eastern part of Canada because of the facilities and amenities offered there. How can I miss something for Nature Lovers who will absolutely relish themselves to the largely uninhabited Northern Part that prides of exotic wildlife.

Canadian history has been something that to know about it. The country has nearly a dozen distinct groups of Inuits (Canadian ethnic Eskimos) settled in northern regions. The Inuits strongly believe that their land had been usurped by the previous governments, similar to the situation of Aborigines in Australia. After some protests, around 350,000 square kilometers (135,135 square miles) of area belonging to Northwest Territories was ceded to the Inuits in 1991 and anointed as the semi-autonomous region of Nunavut Territory. Some more land and autonomy was bestowed to the Inuits in 1999.

Canadian Government was smart to deal this controversial matter. Why not? The country has been gifted with the vast barren land and mounties against the low population and ceding some area of land especially in the norther region where surviving for the layman in the freezing weather is almost not chosen. Most inhabitants are settled along the US-Canada border.

Perhaps the stunning beauty is attributed to the struggle for control over this huge country. The country is almost two and a half times larger than India. The Anglo-French war during 17th Century over Canada resulted in the falling of French Canada capital of Quebec to English General Wolfe. Afterwards, the Americans also did not leave any stone unturned to unsuccessfully control Canadian territories and seize control from the British after the British defeat in the American War of Independence.

In 1791, Canada was divided into linguistic regions with French and English speaking folks. However, this arrangement did not last longer and failed to a unified system. Today, Canada is a peaceful multi culture country following its independent foreign policy. To quote an instance, Canada did not favor US allied forces invading Iraq and surprisingly they have British Monarch as its Head of state. The country is simply amazing when you consider that it is divided into six time zones and borders three of he world's four ocean

Canada Immigration - a heavenly abode

India has been a predominantly an immigrant society and this passion can be experienced when you see Indians settle in every part of the world flourishing and progressing peacefully. The key countries such as USA, Canada, UK, Australia, New Zealand and many other where you find a huge community of Indians these days and most of them are trying to in sync with the culture of western and eastern both.

Recently, the applications for Permanent Residence and Student Visa has increased many fold and this situation is attributed to many reasons likewise the strong Indian Community Settlement by which the support of country fellows is available, a decent lifestyle, a better job opportunities with the handsome package, the inborn passion for settling overseas for some, kith and kins, etc.

Canada's points score requirement reduced from 75 to 67 on 18 September 2003. It means that there has been a considerable increase in the number of people who meet Canadian Visa requirement and they have been able to see their dreams come true to settle in North America. The previous requirement of 75 points was very much stringent that led the highly qualified and skilled intended immigrants failed their applications for Permanent Residence or made them ineligible to lodge their applications. In 2008, Canadian Government changed the regulation and introduced 38 occupations only under PR category that has been a great disappointment for many and a boon for some who qualify for this.

Canadian Immigration is assessed against 6 factors and the applicant needs to score 67 points out of these 6 factors. The 6 factors are Education (Maximum 25 points), English and French Language Ability (Maximum 24 points), Work Experience (Maximum 21 points), Age (Maximum 10 points), Arranged Employment (Maximum 10 points), and Adaptability (Maximum 10 points).

The process of the PR application usually takes from 6 to 12 months depending upon the application, the documents submitted, case loads with the department, risk perceived in each application, authenticating and verifying the documents and many more stages from which the application routes through.

My first step to the blogging

Bizarrely, I believe that I am one of the late bloggers in this net savvy world. However, I am strongly of opinion that we are never too late for anything in our life.

After experiencing Orkut and Facebook, I got tired somewhat of such social sites as they are only meant for gossiping and I think that this platform does help you develop about what is going in the mind of your mates and others.

Let see how I feel about this and keep you updated for my experience
